Courtyard Craft Centre

Here is Hailey wearing a dress and bag I made for her a few years ago when I was pregnant with her and in my crafting binge stage of nesting. Poor Ethan wanted to fill her little bag with his stuff and wondered where HIS bag was. I assured him that I had made a sock monkey stuffed animal for him, when I was pregnant with him (and could also make a special bag for him when we got home).

This morning we met Margie and took the bus out to the Courtyard Craft Centre. It has all these different little shops (chocolate shop, pottery shop, yarn shop...). It was a tad different than expected-over half of the shops were not open. We got a few chocolates and then grabbed lunch and ate outside at the cafe.

We made our way back to the bus stop and we were trying to figure out when the next bus came. Luckily, there was a couple with their kid that came to the bus stop and told us that a bus was coming in 15-20min. that would work. Thank goodness because after that one it was quite awhile before the next bus came. They were super friendly and told us all about how we could catch crabs off the pier with just a special net with a string, some ham or pepperoni as bait and a bucket. No permit necessary but it is just to catch and release, for the sport of it. It sounded like a lot of fun! Seems like a fun summer activity, especially since we are a block from the pier. I see a trip to the Pound store for a crab bucket and net in our near future! :)

Here is Ethan with his new sumo wrestling game that came in the mail from Greggers in Japan!

So later that evening when the kids and I were walking to get takeout, we bumped into our crabbing friends (back from Sandbanks) from earlier in the day and asked them how their crabbing went. They too, were looking for somewhere to eat (although we weren't really much help since we had only been here a few weeks and had only been to a few places nearby-none that we would rave about). Small world! We got Indian takeout at Tandoori Nights and have found our new go-to for takeout! We got a coconut yogurt curry, a mint dish and one other (I can't recall) and all three were amazing! (The curry was sweet and not at all spicy and was perfect for the kids.) Chris' coworker, Andrew, joined us for dinner so he could hang out and meet the kids before he watches them tomorrow when Chris and I go out to dinner. Yah!
