Dublin Arrival and Date Night!

Once arriving in Dublin, it was super easy to get to the Jury's Inn Custom House Hotel on the airport bus. It dropped us less than a block away. And we were super impressed with the Jury's Inn. They let us check into our huge clean room several hours early, had the "baby cot" all set up, and we're super friendly and helpful (ah, customer service!). It was right on the Liffey River and convenient for getting around by foot.

Dublin is a cool city with a hip vibe and pubs everywhere!

Chris and the kids with one of the many Liffey River bridges in the background:

We wasted no time in heading to the pub! We had lunch at the J.M. Sweetman Craft Brewery. Great beer!

The kids are tired and starting to fall apart. Chris and then went back to the room for naps while I perused the Saturday markets in the Temple Bar district.

So busy and so many tourists flood this area!

I wanted to find the crafty market called Designer Mart. This kind Irishman took and led me to it when I asked him where it was. So friendly and helpful! He also gave me the inside scoop and recommended that we go to The Celt tonight for Chris and I's date for some good Celtic live music and a friendly down-home pub.

Chris and I were nervous about some random stranger that the hotel arranged babysitting our kids. However, the minute we saw Priscilla, we knew she was super responsible and didn't have a mean bone in her body and were immediately at ease. Love this hotel-they are awesome!

We had dinner at Ely, in an old wine cellar. Very tasty. And then, we walked around for 45min-1hr. trying to find some live music (I was googling The Celtic instead of the Celt at first by accident). After deciding that the Temple Bar area was too crowded and touristy, I realized it was called The Celt and we headed there. We arrived before the band started but it was standing room only. The band (which seemed to be mostly family members) was AWESOME! We stayed out an hour later than originally planned because they were so good!
