Kingston Lacey

This morning we went to Wetherspoons (chain here that has good old fashioned English food and drink for good prices and is supposedly also where old men go and drink all day) for breakfast. Chris got the bottomless coffee and we both got eggs Benedict. After hemming and hawing over what to do today (and checking out the sightseeing cruises that left from the pier and deciding that it was too windy for that today), we set out for Kingston Lacey Estate. We toured the fancy house but the different gardens and trails throughout the huge property and the area for kids to ride on little tractors and use wheel barrows was really the highlight. We seemed to hit it at the right time, with everything in bloom and the bluebells everywhere. Rocky was telling us all about what the different flowers and herbs were and how they can be used (it was handy to have the horticulturalist along!). Chris was in flower photography mode as well. He takes the landscape and macro pics and I take the people pics. :) This was a National Trust property so we got to use our passes (and can come back here some other time just for the tractors). We stopped for new favorite fish and chips takeaway on the way home but I'm getting a little burnt out on the fried food so I had our Thai leftovers.

Here was Hailey chasing after some little boy and Ethan following her. We told him to bring her back:

Bluebells everywhere (and a garlic smelling white flower):
