Cadbury World and Bibury

Saturday afternoon we set out for Birmingham. On the 3hr. drive I saw two interesting things:
1. Several trucks that said "racing pigeons" and had little locked doors where each of them were kept. Chris and I couldn't help laughing and trying to envision what pigeon races looked like.
2. I saw two blind people out walking together with the walking sticks. I said "Look Chris, it's the blind leading the blind." No disrespect intended, I just couldn't help myself because it fit the saying perfectly.

Birmingham's main attraction is Cadbury World and it didn't seem like it had much else. But that's fine, that's what we went there for! We stayed in this basic inn that had a Toby's Carvery in the bottom so we went there for dinner. Like many buffets, it had some really good things (the pork, ham, fried potatoes, mashed potatoes...). But, also some bad: the beef was like beef jerky (beef in England in general tends to be so dry! I just don't get it!).

Hailey ate so much that she was in a food coma:

She actually looked down at her belly and patted her tummy as if to say "so full!":

And then she was so full that she couldn't even walk straight. :) Look at this gorgeous cherry tree outside the restaurant:

We made it to Cadbury World!

Ah, the anticipation...

Ethan just wants to know when he can start eating chocolate:

It was such an interactive tour, totally geared towards kids which was very cool! This was on the little ride through chocolate bean land (kind of like "It's A Small World" with cocoa bean characters). They also had a 4D movie that seemed like you were going on a roller coaster! They also had a really unique big outdoor playground for kids!

Here they give you a sample of the warm liquid chocolate and you got to pick toppings to put in it. We picked gummy candy. They also gave each of us 3 candy bars at the start: Cadbury milk chocolate bar, Curly Whirly and Crunchie.

Look at those chocolate lips:

Decorating chocolate tea pots (so English)!

And chocolate vintage heels:

Old Cadbury sign still on the building:

The kids are so used to running for the train, force of habit: :)

Befriending the Creme Egg man:

I'd kiss those frogs :)

I don't think Chris could get around very well in this little house that is practically as tall as he is:

Arlington Row-the most photographed street in the UK. In Bibury, a village in the Cotswolds. Totally looks like Middle Earth!

So mischevious:

Such joy! Love this pic of Ethan:

Is this hotel made out of shrubs?
