Hailey's 2nd Birthday Party

Guess how old this girl is turning in just a few days? (ok, she gets to wear her shirt with her age a few days early):

Saturday we had a little birthday celebration for Hailey. Our house was in a bit of disarray because we've been gone so much (and have had sick people) and I can hardly catch up on the laundry, let alone do all the nitty gritty. But Friday and Saturday I gave the house a good cleaning. Well, Friday I got a little distracted and ended up doing a lot of packing, actually. The movers are coming next week to assess how much we are bringing so I kind of needed to pull out all of the things anyways and it kind of helped to reorganize so I could clean. Nonetheless, I was very productive--almost all of the things that are getting shipped are now on our middle floor, stacked in the corner. Ha, the downside to being productive is that the kids always seem to totally act up because I'm not giving them enough attention.

Anyways, Saturday morning Chris watched the kids so I could clean and decorate the cupcakes. Hailey requested doggy cupcakes so I got my Pinterest on:

Margie, Sonny and Chris' boss Todd came over for the party. We all had a really good time!

The kids totally took to Todd and he was reading them several books:

Margie and Sonny brought a present for Hailey and Ethan got a little something too! (Hailey started off wearing cute little black and silver shoes with her dress but of course changed into her wellies. Can't argue with the birthday girl! :))

Minion puzzles!

Hailey got a little dog that walks and barks (wow, a really annoying bark, kind of a yippy little thing). They didn't realize that it barked and then were joking and telling the kids to put it on barking mode as much as possible to drive Chris and I crazy:

Hailey loves it!

They also brought over some champagne pops  (little things with streamers that come out) and pop rocks--haven't seen those since I was a kid! Very entertaining!

Chris made a tasty fish and potatoes in the oven (we can't get charcoal here anywhere for the grill because it is "seasonal" here) for dinner. And salad. Lots of wine was consumed. And then Hailey blows out her candles and we all had cupcakes. She was very excited and blew it out the first try!

And then she daintily used her fork to eat it for awhile? Ok, when does she ever do that? She put on a good show anyways... :)
